Backdoors, Golden Keys: Here We Go Again - Monday Note

A good overview with links to other articles on the key issues around encrypted communication and governments desire to have access to it. None of this is new to those that have been following it. The US Government took Phil Zimmerman to court over the creation of encryption they could not break. It was classified a munition! The Clipper chip debacle was, to my knowledge, the only time government actually required this. Unfortunately the track record suggests that backdoors are desired to surveil everyone, and these flash point with terrorists are great ways for government to try and shift the focus.
